Let’s start a new adventure

I’m going to concentrate on my part of the Missouri Ozark Mountains. The intention is to take my camera, video camera and my drone to capture the land, the people, the businesses, and lifestyle of this area. This is going to be a lot of fun! Kind of like one long road trip.

Missouri’s Ozark Mountains were home to the Osage tribes. Forty-six inches of rain and mild winters create an environment for all life to flourish. Lush forest, Spring fed rivers and streams today feed into large reservoirs’ with thousands of miles of combined shoreline.

The lakes are surrounded by thousands of acres of Federal land, and Mark Twain National Forest. Hunting, and Wildlife Watching, Boating or Floating, Hiking or Horseback Riding. Fishing, or sitting with a good book. Here we live, with room to breathe.

It is a short drive to Springfield. Missouri’s third largest city for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Branson for the Music shows, shopping, and all the touristy stuff. Mountain Home is just over the state line, for just a lot of the same. Springfield and Mountain Home are the nearest hospitals. West is the highway 65 corridor, that runs between Springfield and Branson, and is dotted with bedroom communities and quaint small towns like Ozark and Nixa. They are a lot of fun for antiquing, and some great family restaurants.

When you’re done, you come home, to your place here in the mountains, where the pace slows down.
Sit beside your firepit and watch the setting sun, reminiscent of the campfire of the Osage, enjoy the dance of the lightning bugs and in the quiet, listen to the tree frogs sing their ancient song.
